At the beginning of the 20th century, the new Vouga Valley railway brought modern times to the parish. Cedrim merited the construction of a railway stop. The Cedrim railway stop is a mandatory stop on the Ecopista. The train used to pass through at 6am, 10am, 2.30pm, 5pm and 7pm, but it was the 5pm train that caused the biggest stir, as it brought and carried the post. In those days, mail was precious, because for many people it was the only way to communicate with relatives who lived elsewhere.

One of the carriages had a slot where letters could be placed, and so the family's longings, lovers' secrets and so many other emotions were poured onto paper, which the steam train then took away.

The building is still well preserved, as is the façade of an old warehouse where cement, coal and other goods were stored. Also evocative of the times when the steam train arrived here, enveloped in its clouds of smoke, is a section of the line itself now preserved as a monument, which was removed from a pontoon that existed for the train to pass over the road at Fontelas. Although it no longer exists, there is still a memory of a large water reservoir next to the line, connected to a tank at the top of the slope, which used to replenish the water for the train stopped at the platform.
