Anta da Cerqueira

Most of these megalithic monuments or necropolises were built on elevations, plateaus and mountain slopes for strategic reasons of defence and foraging. This is a corridor dolmen and its construction dates back around 5,000 years. The burial chamber is made up of large stones placed vertically. The dead of the prehistoric communities that inhabited this region were deposited in these burial chambers.

This dolmen is classified as a Property of Public Interest.
